After nearly 20 hours of travel we have finally arrived at our first stop, Bergen. Outside of our hotel doorstep is Bryggen, a medieval wharf in the historic harbor district known for its colorful, wooden-clad boat houses. With over 17 hours of daylight today and no actual night, it made for an interesting sunset at 10:23 PM when we went from daylight to civil twilight. Civil twilight is when the geometric center of the sun is only 6 degrees below the horizon of the Earth, meaning it has disappeared, but it is very close to peaking back up.
